It all started in a small workshop in San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood, where the founders—a graphic designer and a textile engineer—were trying to reconcile their passion for urban art with the needs of local businesses. Initially, they printed T-shirts for indie bands and artisanal coffee shops, using an old screen printing press and recycled materials.
Soon, demand outstripped their capacity: orders arrived with complex specifications, impossible deadlines, and suppliers who didn’t respect their ethical standards. Frustrated by the lack of options that combined quality, speed, and environmental responsibility, they decided to take control of the entire process.
Thus, Print Design SF was born in 2020: a direct response to the gaps in the print-on-demand industry.
